At times we have to choose between the path that is conventional and the path that is not. In today's world that once worn path that our great grandparents traveled is so overgrown and forgotten that it barely exists. Our goal is to reforge that forgotten path and make it new again.

Slippers are a Big Hit

Last week Mackenson & I were lucky enough to find some slippers for him on the thrift store's "everything you can shove into a bag for a dollar" table. Once I explained that they weren't shoes to Marie and him, they both thought they were the cat's pajamas, the bee's knees, radical and all of that. Of course we haven't had the same luck finding a pair for Marie, even new ones...they just don't make many slippers in her size apparently. Today we struck gold and found a pair and of course they were pink, I mean what other color do they make to fit little girls? I would have bought the green camo slippers that are made "for boys" if they had her size but they didn't (and I looked). Hmm, at least she likes pink ...and that's just fine. I'll let my kids make up their own minds about gender specific marketing. Mackenson can keep on carrying his pink cell phone in his valise (purse) and Marie can wear her striped dark blue shirt to school.

You're an awesome mom. Just had to get that out there. I love reading your blog - I love that Mack packs a pink cell phone in his purse and I love that you are not afraid to look for camo slippers for Marie - although I bet I would like the pink ones. :-)

The kids are so adorable, I love reading the stories behind their every day adventures.

How do they do like in grocery stores or restaurant's? Are they big tantrum throwers or pretty well mannered?

Kate :)

Kate,
They are mostly good in public. Several times strangers have commented on how well they behave, actually. That is not to say they are always good, but for the most part they behave. They tend to be loud sometimes and I have to remind them to be quieter. Marie likes to point at things she likes in stores (yeah, that's everything).
